Legolas's narrowed eyes relaxed slightly as he gazed around his surroundings. While he and several other elves were returning home to the Mirkwood forest, they were viciously attacked by a band of orcs. Legolas stepped out of what had been a battlefield moments before. Bodies of orcs littered the ground. An evil was rising, he could feel it.
Suddenly, Legolas felt a presence beside him. "Legolas, what troubles you?" Eyes as green as emeralds, there standing beside the blonde elf, was Tauriel. Her expression was filled with concern and unease.
Legolas's eyes were fixed on the horizon. Even though the battle was over, his jaw was still tight, his muscles tensed. Legolas glanced over at Tauriel. Her long ruby colored hair blew gently as a breeze passed over them. He glanced back at his fellow elves who looked as if they were ready to continue. "We must make haste if we want to reach Mirkwood by nightfall." He said, breaking away from Tauriel's searching gaze.
